We offer Substance Use Disorder  Recovery Services

Bear River Health offers a network of services for all stages of your recovery journey--from withdrawal management, to separate residential centers for men and women, to multiple outpatient offices offering medically assisted treatment. Our staff consists of caring professionals working together to guide you during your recovery journey in a safe and confidential environment located in northern Lower Michigan.

Admissions Coordinator

Our Admissions Team members perform a variety of complex clerical and administrative duties requiring comprehensive knowledge of the software utilized by the team. The admission coordinator exercises independent judgment and action, including making frequent decisions in accordance with delegated responsibilities from assigned supervisor. Primary emphasis is placed upon ensuring that qualified candidates are admitted to BRH and proper documentation required for a complete admission as determined by the admissions team. An employee in this class receives guidance from the supervisor and is expected to exercise considerable tact, discretion, and judgment. The employee may be required to train other clerical personnel. This position requires teamwork and the ability to work well with others. This position requires customer service skills. Performance is evaluated periodically.

Shift is 12 - 8 pm, every other weekend & every other holiday.

Clinical Counselor

The Clinical Counselor works with clients by facilitating workshops, maintaining a small case load, provide individual counseling and family counseling sessions as needed, and attend all staff meetings.

Minimum Qualifications: Experience in substance abuse and dual diagnosis residential treatment facility preferred. Must have a CADC or be on a development plan, working under supervision. Completion of the development plan is a condition of maintaining employment in this position. Masters level license or Bachelor's of Social Work preferred.

Day shift, Monday through Friday.

Behavioral Health Technician

The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for the support and mentoring of clients while in our Residential Treatment Facilities. He/she will maintain close communication with Clinical Director, case managers, and therapists. This individual acts as the central receiver of pertinent clinical data and works closely with case managers and therapists in the formulation of treatment planning, responding to crisis and planning for the needs of clients and their environment to ensure efficacy of service delivered.

Clinical Case Manager

The in-patient Residential Case Manager serves as a participating member of the clinical team and provides services to promote positive behavioral change for detoxing and residential clients. The residential/detox case manager will also work closely with the medical team to assist in providing the needs for BRH clients.

The Case Manager provides: intake assessment, benefit assessment, goal setting, long-term care plan development, weekly case plan development, progress monitoring, individual money management, tenant education, advocacy and referrals for all NMRE detox clients and residential clients that have been referred by their primary therapist; and maintains a caseload of BRH clients and families.

The Case Manager meets with clients weekly during their stay and follow up with the client after discharge by telephone if the client has provided written consent.

The Case Manager also provides all required documentation in a timely manner, which may include client follow-up, case notes, outcome evaluation, client contact sheets, and evaluations.

Outreach Counselor

The Outreach Counselor works with clients by completing assessments, providing individual and group counseling, discharge plans, and embracing the mission of Bear River Health to Save Lives and Foster Growth.

Minimum Qualifications: The individual selected for this position must be licensed or credentialed as follows:

 

Licensed: LMSW or LPC is required for licensure. An exception will be made for a limited licensed person that maintain a supervision plan and is working toward licensure. All supervision and training requirements together with reporting records must be maintained with HR.
 

Credentialed: MCBAP as a CAADC or CADC. If a person is on a DP or development plan then they are credentialed as long as they maintain their supervision and reporting requirements must be maintained with HR.

This is a hybrid position with 3 days per week in the Harbor/Petoskey office and 2 days per week in the Charlevoix or Gaylord office.

Kitchen Staff

Dining Services is responsible for the preparation and serving of all meals, as well as managing the food service production and delivery system, including purchase and inventory of food and supplies. Dining Services staff ensure conformance with food quality, nutrition, and productivity standards.
