Who We Are

We offer Substance Use Disorder  Recovery Services

Bear River Health offers a network of services for all stages of your recovery journey--from withdrawal management, to separate residential centers for men and women, to multiple outpatient offices offering medically assisted treatment. Our staff consists of caring professionals working together to guide you during your recovery journey in a safe and confidential environment located in northern Lower Michigan.

Drug & Alcohol Withdrawal Management Program
  • Medication available to assist with detoxification and withdrawal management

  • 24-7-365 medically supervised care

  • Access to medical provider and clinical staff daily

Programs


  • Walloon Lake and Boyne Falls Men's Campuses; Gaylord Women's Campus;  Boyne Falls Admissions Center 

  • Individualized treatment planning

  • Dedicated treatment team to small groups.

  • Clinical staffing ratio of approximately 7 to 1

  • ASAM 3.5 and 3.1 levels of care

Outpatient Services & Ongoing Recovery Support
 
  • Supporting clients in all stages of recovery

  • Outpatient & Intensive Outpatient Programs

  • Assessments for Driver's License and Court

  • Opioid Home Health

  • Jail outreach

  • Integrated medically-assisted treatment.

  • SURF Club for ongoing support

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program
  • Integrating approved medications with required counseling to sustain recovery

  • This service is provided through affiliations with Better Health and Wellness.

  • All FDA-approved treatments except methadone 

  • Available during residential and outpatient programs

Now Hiring

Clinical Counselor:
The Clinical Counselor with work with clients by facilitating workshops, maintaining a small case load, provide individual counseling and family counseling sessions as needed, and attend all staff meetings.


Minimum Qualifications: Experience in substance abuse and dual diagnosis residential treatment facility preferred. Must have a CADC or be on a development plan, working under supervision. Completion of the development plan is a condition of maintaining employment in this position. Masters level license or Bachelor's of Social Work preferred.

Transportation Crew Member

This is a driving position to transport clients to and from Bear River Health. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and CDL endorsement. Must exercise considerable tact, discretion, and judgment. Great customer service skills required. Maintenance of vehicles, to-wit: washing, cleaning, sanitizing, etc. as needed is also required of this position. A flexible schedule is required for this position.

Medical Technician

Bear River Health is looking for dependable individuals to work with our diverse population at our treatment facility. The Certified Nursing Assistant or Non-Certified Medical Technician would be responsible for assisting with intakes and discharges, Assisting with medication inventory, relaying client concerns or information to the on-duty nurse, monitoring the detox unit, and more. Currently we are seeking full time/part time CNA/Tech's for Night/Weekends shift availability.

Overnight Medical Technician

Bear River Health is looking for dependable individuals to work with our diverse population at one of our 3 treatment facilities. The Certified Nursing Assistant or Non-Certified Medical Technician would be responsible for assisting with intakes and discharges, assisting with medication inventory, relaying client concerns or information to the on-duty nurse, monitoring the detox unit, and more. Currently we are seeking full time/part time CNA/Tech's for Night/Weekends shifts availability. We are looking for 1 candidate for the following shifts 7 pm to 7 am.

Behavioral Health Technician

The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for the support and mentoring of clients while in our Residential Treatment Facilities. He/she will maintain close communication with Clinical Director, case managers, and therapists. This individual acts as the central receiver of pertinent clinical data and works closely with case managers and therapists in the formulation of treatment planning, responding to crisis and planning for the needs of clients and their environment to ensure efficacy of service delivered.
